Mykita Eyewear Bernhard Willhelm Franz Sunglasses. Limited Edition Franz style sunglasses produced by Mykita in collaboration with German avant-garde fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm. The Franz model was inspired by and named after legendary downhill champion Franz Klammer. Skiing is an ancient sport and method of transportation, and it was specifically the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck that provided the inspiration for Bernard Willhelm's autumn/winter men's collection. Not strictly speaking a skiwear collection but rather what the fashion designer considers a "Striped Hybrid". Some of the outfits provide barely enough protection when it comes to sub-zero temperatures but the sunglasses will give you full protection. The expansive but Spartan design is a conscious reference to the inadequacies of past manufacturing methods! Bernhard Willhelm joined forces with Mykita to present this beautiful aviator style sunglass. Mykita a worldwide success on the luxury eyewear market.
This is a blue frame made with top-quality stainless steel, just 0.5 mm thick, ensuring an ultra-light feel. Mykita sees every part of the frame is cut out of sheet metal and folded into a lightweight but full-bodied format. Featuring remarkably elegant and intelligent screw-less hinge design that ensures total flexibility and allows complete, custom-fit adaptability. The nose pads and temple tips are covered in surgical latex for maximum comfort. Mykita uses a PVD finish – a state-of-the-art vacuum-heat coating technique producing a non-oxidizing and highly wear-resistant surface. Mykita frames are virtually indestructible.
This frame comes with blue flash mirror polycarbonate sunglass lenses with UV400 protection as well as Anti-Reflective coating on the inside to eliminate bounce back glare, relieve eye strain and to provide protection from the damaging rays of the sun, resulting in healthier eyes.
