High-index 1.67 lenses are an alternative choice to standard, plastic lenses reducing the thickness and weight of an eyeglass lens up to 40%, particularly for individuals with a strong prescription. (AR) coating is a type of optical coating applied to the surface of lenses to reduce reflection. Anti-reflection lenses decrease reflection making eyewear look better, less glare is particularly noticeable when driving at night or working in front of a computer monitor. The decreased glare means wearers often find their eyes are less tired, particularly at the end of the day. Allowing more light to pass through the lens also increases contrast and therefore increases visual acuity.
